Bathing Water Profile: Enniscrone

The beach stretches for an impressive 5km and is situated in west Co Sligo, 13km from Ballina & 48km from Sligo town.   It is surrounded on one side by the seaside town Enniscrone, and on the other side by Killala Bay and backed by sand dunes.   A point of interest is the ‘Valley of Diamonds` a volcano like formation near the end of the beach, where the sand dunes have been fenced off as part of the ‘Dune restoration works programme’ by Sligo Co Council.   Cars have access to the beach and it is life guarded from June to August each year.
